Partner Information

A partner is a not-for-profit organization which organizes a track of speakers, displays of sustainable living practices, demonstrations and vendors around the mission or purpose of the organization and consistent with the purposes of the ISLF.  The partner organization must provide $500 in cash or value to the ISLF.  The latter would be through the recruitment of vendor spaces, in which case there would be no fee for the partnering organization.

This style of organizing creates autonomy for partner organizations to present concepts of sustainable living that are related to the organization's mission. It further elevates the visibility of partnering organizations beyond the booth or table space presence at large expo or conference events.

The greatest asset of this concept is the collective vision that results from the blending of the visions of partnering organizations.  There are many doors to the world of sustainability, but each one usually leads to a one dimensional aspect of sustainable living such as recycling, local food production, renewable energy, alternative medical therapies, etc. Our goal is to portray the big picture of sustainable living to an audience of citizens who already have an interest in one or a few of such subjects, but whose eyes will be opened to the full spectrum of sustainable living, no matter which door they enter.

Partner organizations can create their own cluster of educational and promotional displays, demonstrations and commercial vendors that demonstrate the organization's purpose and activities. All of this which -- in the context of a fair setting where people are having fun -- promotes their receptivity to support organizational missions.

Not only is there no fee for the partnering organization, the organization could earn money through its participation.

The Indiana Sustainable Living Fair is a great opportunity for organizations to highlight their identity to a large and diverse audience, recruit new members and earn money for the organization.

The partnering organization would get (1) its name listed as a partner in promotional material, (2) one vendor space, (3) two seminar time slots in a building, the main stage or tent, (3) use of additional space on the grounds for meetings, seminars or other activities that the organization arranges (4) half of the vendor proceeds above those vendors recruited to meet the $500 base.

Partners are encouraged to contribute their visions to the ambiance and physical appearance of the Fair. The organizing principle we have established is that we create a fair-like atmosphere (color and design for visual stimulation -- banners, flags posters, displays -- activities, and entertainment) with a focus on education about sustainable living practices.
